#365Green Contest week 7 wrap-up – The Final Countdown

#365Green

A short update this week that starts with a huge congratulations to Angie E of North Dakota. Our tomatoes don’t make it to the mid-west too often, but fortunately for Angie she is going to see them right at her door every two weeks for a year. Proving the more you enter, the better your chances of winning, Angie has shared her simple #365Green tips on everything from recycling all your papers to save trees, conserving energy with the simple flip of a light switch when you are not in a room to donating unused items to charity so others can benefit.… Read more

Houweling’s #365Green – Week 3 Wrap-up ‘Take Pictures, leave footprints’

#365Green

The title for this weeks update came from Veronica H. of Redding, CA. She was sharing her family’s philosophy when in nature, but I think we can all take a lesson from it. Really, no matter where we are and what we are doing we need to take more pictures and leave foot prints instead of waste. That is not Veronica in the above picture, that is Karen S of Lincoln, CA who shared this picture of her vegetable garden.… Read more

Houweling’s #365Green – Week 2 Wrap-up ‘SIMPLE SOLUTIONS’

San Diego, CA

Every summer, it amazes me how quickly the weeks pass by. Our vines in California and BC are producing more fruit than any other time of year thanks to longer sunny days. Since launching our 365Green contest, it feels like things are moving even faster.

It is inspiring to read the hundreds of sustainability stories being shared via contest entries. What I really like is how simple many of them are; the only cost to put into practice is time and effort.… Read more
